Improvement works about to start in Meadow Road, Driffield

Tue, 11 Jan 2022

As part of its programme of highway maintenance works, East Riding of Yorkshire Council propose to carry out carriageway and footway improvements works along Meadow Road, Driffield. The extents of the work on Meadow Road will be adjacent to the recent housing development.

The council's contractor, CR Reynolds Ltd, will be carrying out the works, which are due to start on Monday, 17 January, 2022. Work will take place on weekdays from 9am until 5pm and will take approximately three months to complete (weather permitting).

The works will consist of installing a new surface water drainage system, along with excavating and resurfacing both the carriageway and footway to existing/new levels. The carriageway is also to be widened at the section opposite the playing field to allow for two-way traffic. New kerbing and ironworks will also be installed as part of the scheme.

Works will take place under a full road closure during the working hours to allow for the works to be carried out safely and effectively. Access will be permitted within the works area for residents and emergency services.
