A 'Meet the Funders' event will be held in the Kenny Baker Room at The Meridian Centre in Withernsea on Thursday, 4 November, aimed at local residents, groups and organisations who would like to meet with local funders who may be able to help to bring ideas to life.
People can drop by the event anytime between 12 noon and 4pm. Those attending will need to register at the venue on the day, or book a place in advance on Eventbrite at www.eventbrite.com/e/183538226777.
Funders in attendance on the day to offer advice and guidance will be:
Active Withernsea Get Going Grants : The Get Going Grants scheme is an easy and accessible small grants scheme for the Withernsea community to try ideas which increase physical activity.
Sport England : Responsible for growing and developing grassroots sport and getting more people active. Joel Brookfield will be present to provide information on their funding opportunities. Joel can advise on their Small Grants and Active Together crowdfunding and guide to the appropriate fund.
Smile Community Hive: Smile Community Hive are here to help, and provide guidance and support on creating a grant application.
Tesco Community Grants (Groundwork) : Karen Tozer from Groundwork will be available to chat about the Tesco Community grants. Supporting local community projects and good causes across the UK, the scheme is open to all registered charities and not-for-profit organisations.
Withernsea Big Local : Withernsea Big Local invests in groups and individuals, to create lasting change in the community. Two funding opportunities include: Investing in Withernsea (any amount of money) and the Community Grant Scheme (for grants from £200 to £500).
East Riding 4 Community : A member of the council's External Funding Team will be on hand to help register on the local community funding website, East Riding 4 Community.
Selena Russell, Active Withernsea Funding Systems Officer said : "This will be a really useful event for the Withernsea community which could unlock the door for a wide range of new opportunities in the town. It's a great opportunity to meet a range of local funders in Withernsea. We encourage anyone that has a new idea or would like to find out about funding and support available to drop in for a chat on the day"
