A Night of Comedy at Goole Library with Will Jackson

Fri, 01 Oct 2021

The East Riding Festival of Words presents a night of comedy at Goole Library on Thursday, 14 October, at 7pm, with Will Jackson.

Will brings his 'Yours Sincerely' tour to the venue - he has accidentally stolen 300-second class stamps from the post office. But he's making them count. He's going to write letters. From reconnecting with old friends and ex-boyfriends to run-ins with the marketing department at John Lewis, stamp collecting has never been so sexy…

Based on real-life correspondences; storytelling and lipsync cabaret collide in this queer coming-of-age comedy about the complications of 21st-century communication.

Will Jackson is a Theatre Maker and Comedian. He is a Birmingham REP Foundry Artist, a BBC Arts New Creative and one of this year's six emerging writers at the Bush Theatre. Yours Sincerely was his debut solo show at the Edinburgh Fringe and since has been named a Rising Comic Star by Attitude magazine.

This event is coming to the Festival of Words thanks to a partnership with The Inn Crowd.

Tickets are available now at £3 each, either online at www.festivalofwords.co.uk or from Goole Library.

Also coming to Goole Library for the Children's Festival of Words on Wednesday, 20 October at 10am is a fun and interactive puppet telling of 'Three Little Fishes and the Big Bad Shark.'

Join Carol and her puppets to find out what happens to the three little fishy friends Jim, Tim and Kim as they go out into the big blue sea and build their own little homes. Will they get eaten up by that big old shark? This whale of a tale is guaranteed to have little ones giggling!

Tickets are £6 for one child, £10 for two children and £12 for three children with accompanying adults free. Tickets can be purchased in Goole Library or online at www.festivalofwords.co.uk
