Strategic Environmental Assessment comprises a series of stages which require an Environmental Report to be prepared for any Neighbourhood Plan where it is likely to have significant environmental effects.
The first stage is to determine whether the emerging Woodmansey Neighbourhood Plan will have significant environmental effects. This assessment is called a Screening Opinion. The Screening Opinion for the emerging Woodmansey Neighbourhood Plan was completed by East Riding of Yorkshire Council on 28 August 2015.
The Screening Opinion concludes that proposals in the emerging Woodmansey Neighbourhood Plan could have significant environmental effects. This is due to the identification of land use allocations (for new housing and employment development in the village) and the impacts of the Plan on the historic environment.
