About the centre
Bridlington 2 Children’s Centre services are based at Bridlington Family Centre on Shaftesbury Road near Hilderthorpe school. The children’s centre services offered at the family centre cover the town of Bridlington as well as local surrounding villages.The friendly, passionate and knowledgeable staff team work alongside colleagues from Midwifery and Health Visiting to provide a range of activities and services for children and their parents or carers, grandparents or childminders from pregnancy to age 9.We have recently achieved the Gold Standard Baby Friendly Accreditation which enables us to better support families with feeding and developing close, loving relationships with their babies.
Parking
Limited car parking is available, including disabled/accessible car parking spaces, to the front and side of the site. Nearby there is on street parking but please ensure you are considerate when parking, not blocking any access points for local residents.
Facilities
  • Two spacious multipurpose rooms which have access to secure outdoor spaces. There is a kitchen area to support with preparation for messy play activities or snack time, but also health eating sessions.
  • Small adaptable meeting room which can become a sensory room environment, this is bookable and free of charge, and can be used by registered local families.
  • Clothes swap available for families to donate unwanted children’s clothes and also take clothes from the selection available. This is free to access.
  • Take and Make home learning craft resources are available to purchase at reception at a very reasonable cost to support children’s learning and development at home.
  • Baby changing facilities are available throughout the building.
  • Comfortable breast feeding and infant feeding facilities.
Accessibility
The building is on two floors and accessible with lift access to the upstairs meeting rooms. Wherever practicable all rooms can be set up and used flexibly in order to accommodate individual needs. There are accessible toilets and the main entrance door to the reception has a low level automatic push button operation.

Additional information
Bridlington 2 Children’s Centre also offers some services in outreach locations such as local village halls working in partnership with local childcare settings and early years groups (see our events page for further details).Children’s centre services share the site with the local safeguarding teams, Youth and Family Support services, community police, as well as midwives and health visitors offering their services from the centre too.
