The East and North Yorkshire Waterways Partnership brings together a wide range of groups and organisations, all of which have a vested interest in the area’s waterways, and promotes a collaborative approach to their economic, environmental and social regeneration
The Waterways Partnership has representation from the following groups:
- Community and voluntary groups (local, regional and national)
- Amenity associations and civic societies
- Internal drainage boards and flood risk management authorities
- Navigation authorities
- Landowners and managers
- Conservation and environmental charities and groups
- Local nature partnerships and biodiversity partnerships
- Riparian town and parish councils (those that are situated adjacent to waterways)
- User groups and clubs representing boaters, anglers, canoeists, walkers and other areas of waterway interest
- Partnerships and organisations dedicated to rural development
- Bodies sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) (including the Environment Agency and Natural England).
