East Riding of Yorkshire Council has established a new small grant fund (approximately £30,000) to support communities across the East Riding which are planning to organise celebratory activities on or around The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Weekend from 2nd to 5th June 2022.
All Parish and Town Councils in the East Riding are eligible to apply to the community fund. Parish and Town Councils may apply in partnership with other groups or organisations (e.g. schools, village hall associations) as long as the Parish or Town Council is the lead applicant. Parish and Town Councils are encouraged to disseminate details of the fund and liaise with other interested groups or organisations within their communities before submitting an application.
The fund will be available to help with the costs of appropriate related activities (e.g. community events, street decorations, themed artwork, commemorative benches or plaques). Applicants can apply for a maximum of £500 and a minimum of £100 per project. Successful projects must be directly related to The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee and demonstrate appropriate community benefit and/or community input. It is anticipated that the fund will only support one application in each Parish and Town Council area, subject to the availability of unallocated grant funds.
The Queen's Platinum Jubilee Community Fund was open for applications between 20 January and 29 April 2022 on the Council's Flexi-grant system. It is now closed to further applications.
The Fund has been extremely popular and details of the community projects supported will be posted on this webpage shortly. Payment of the grants to successful applicants will be processed in May 2022.
