What do we use the information for?

We use this information to process personal data about anyone injured in connection with any work activity carried out by the council, or the perpretrator of acts of violence and aggression against our employees.  It is also used to comply with our statutory duties under the Reporting of Incidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013.

What information do we hold and use?

We collect and process the following personal information about anyone injured in connection with any work activity carried out by the council, or the perpretrator of acts of violence and aggression against our employees

• name
  
• age
  
• gender (male or female)
  
• address
  

The information is used in compliance with a legal obligation contained within the Reporting of Incidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013.

How do we collect this information?

Personal information is taken either from existing records held by the council or school or by direct request from the injured person (member of the public).

Who we share your information with?

Information is only shared with the Health and Safety Executive when making reports under the the Reporting of Incidents, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013.

How long do we store it and is it secure?

Data is stored electronically and used by safety services on a secure server.

The council has retention schedules in place to ensure that information is only held for as long as it is needed. For information on how long your information will be held visit the retention page.

What rights do you have?

The rights that you have depend upon the grounds upon which we collected your information. All of the rights you could have outlined upon the data protection rights page. In most cases, people who have been injured will have the following rights:

• The right of access - You are entitled to see the information the service holds about you and can request a copy by emailing data.protection@eastriding.gcsx.gov.uk  
  
• The right to rectification - If you believe any information the service holds about you to be incorrect please email safety.services@eastriding.gov.uk and we will amend the information accordingly.
